Ermmm it’s a public domain chord. Maybe Emerson Lake & Palmer should’ve sued the CTCUM, but then again they borrowed the tune from Aaron Copland.
Honestly, the inverters on the Lion buses are loud enough that they really don’t need a low speed audible alert. The few times I’ve heard them doo-Doo-DOOO leaving every stop sign (spaced 50 m apart in my neighbourhood!), it was irritating AF. Thankfully most drivers turn it off.

Why do our brand-new buses look so 90s? Oh, wait…

Re-upping my post about the very mundane city bus I took from Gold Coast Airport in Cooloongata to Broadbeach South last March. Why do we continue to favour protectionism over quality or modernity? Regular city buses the world over are light years ahead of ours. Lol just look at a couple of Reece’s tweets yesterday about the city buses in Toronto, including video.
Meanwhile in China lol

IMO an example of timeless design, a bit like the MR-63 or MR-73. The buses made to look more “modern” or “futuristic” we see today are going to age like milk. However, it’s painful to see well designed busses have such poor specs and comfort.
Yeah Navya and EasyMile have been hosting “pilot projects” under controlled conditions in cities around the world for a decade or so; the ones in China are bigger and faster and in actual service on the streets.
I wonder if the fact that novabus has essentially kept the same design since the 90s has saved them money compared to competitors that always change the design. Considering that Novabus doesn’t really have to compete on aesthetics because most of its clients are locked in.
