Coin Saint-Zotique et Parc. Les voitures doivent tourner à droite, mais le terre-plein n’est pas assez long. Les gens vont illégalement vers la gauche, alors que la visibilité est nulle. J’ai vu une voiture couper dangereusement le trafic en direction sud.

Ils auront besoin d’un arrêt temporaire compte tenu de la situation. Pourquoi pas 20 mètres plus loin?
C’est encore plus ridicule en fait.
L’arrêt a été reculé il y a environ deux ans car il y avait trop de nids-de-poule à l’emplacement original de l’arrêt.
La rue a été refaite mais l’arrêt n’est jamais revenu à son endroit initial. Et là il y a des échafaudages

(I’m not the best at requesting documents, but I tried to get the most…)
“I’d like to request documents concerning the pedestrian crossing located at the intersection of Kirkland and St-Charles boulevards in the municipality of Kirkland, including:
1: Any calls for tenders/requests for proposals pertaining to the painting of a unidirectional pedestrian crossing at the intersection (the “arrows” indicating that
pedestrians may only cross in one direction)
2: Any decision-making document related to the installation of a unidirectional pedestrian crossing at the intersection
3: The technical review, approval by the Ministere des Transports et de la Mobilité Durable du Québec (if one exists), and list of traffic devices used, situated on a technical drawing of the intersection used for construction, stamped by a member of the Quebec Order of Engineers (if provided for tendering process)
4: Any internal communication within the city pertaining to the decision to install an atypical pedestrian crossing at the intersection. This includes any e-mails between city councillors and civil engieering departments, as well as studies relating to pedestrian
volumes encountered at the intersection that could’ve led to the decision of the installation of a unidirectional crossing within the urban planning branch of the city. This also includes any safety studies.”

It was already light controlled before 2012, according to Google Street View!

Je l’ai vu aussi, c’est très surprenant qu’ils ont fait l’aménagement sans le remarquer.
If we look again closely. From 2012 to 2022, there was a pedestrian light only on one side of each crossing, making then one-way. In 2025 they added the missing lights.

Curieusement devant le Humaniti, la Ville de Montréal a laissé le dallage du projet immobilier empiéter sur l’espace trottoir du Quartier International. Le dallage municipal constitué de dalles rectangulaires doit aller au delà des arbres sur un espace approprié standard. On a ici laissé le dallage du Humaniti, j’imagine que c’était moins “d’ouvrage” que de tout refaire la section?
Je ne vois pas ce qui est aberrant ici. Le promoteur avait probablement demandé de prendre en charge ces travaux et de faire une place publique continue. Ce qui existe pour d’autres édifices, aussi.
Mais y’a rien de fondamentalement problématique dans l’aménagement, sauf peut-être qu’on pourrait préférer avoir le style du trottoir à la place.

Le dallage est à un angle différent, mais je ne vois pas en quoi c’est aberrant.

Il y a un panneau d’interdiction des déneigeuses que j’ai vu à Pointe-Saint-Charles, avec un bollard qui bloque le trottoir. J’imagine que le bollard est pour éviter les déneigeuses sur le trottoir, mais c’est encore un obstacle pour les piétons.

Le dallage privé peut empiéter sur le domaine public? Je suis quand même surpris. Est-ce qu’il y a des modalités qui le permette?
Il y’en a à quelques endroits dans le Village et sur le Plateau, aussi.
