Autobus 747 utlilisée sur la ligne 97 hiers soir.
Première fois que je vois ca.
You would think that the STM would want the airport experience to be better than this…
Smashed glass all over the place
34 bus
In NYC, Boston, DC, Philadelphia, and a few other cities in the US from what I can tell, have speakers on the outside of buses that warn users when the vehicle is turning. It’s only audible right beside the bus around where someone would be walking, and generally says “Caution, bus is turning.”
I wonder, with the recent incidents of pedestrians being hit by STM buses, if the buses should include announcements, or sounds of some kind like this, with visuals like lights.
Bonus the bus announce the line number to the blind
Yes that’s another good point.
In NYC, as well as many other cities around the world, the buses announce the line at the front door and direction. Someone in Montreal who’s visually impaired can know what the stop is when on the bus, but can’t always know what the line is before they board if it has multiple buses that stop at the same bus stop.
There’s also bus stops in NYC that give live bus time. They even have a button similar to crossing the street, that gives audio of when the next buses are:
On some stops that are in more touristy areas, as seen on the right, they include a map of the area, similar to what @coledev has shared for doing here.
I wish they just integrated with Concordia to make their existing cover extended out further slightly over the road. It would make it more integrated onto the street and take up less space. There could even be similar walls or even just fences added to the road similar to Pie-IX SRB.
