WE--------------! C’est l’heure du moment ! ![]()
Mais--------…

There’s yet another delay in the region’s light-rail network, sources have told The Gazette. CDPQ-Infra, the owner and operator of the REM, has invited reporters to a news conference Thursday morning to announce the next steps in commissioning the light-rail network. It is expected the REM will commission its Deux-Montagnes branch in November — after a period of tests. The REM’s builders must give the province a 30-day notice when it plans to pull the switch on its next branch. The train will run from Central Station, through the Mount Royal tunnel and then north and west, serving the areas of Outremont, T.M.R., St-Laurent, Pierrefonds—Roxboro, Laval, Île Bigras, Ste-Dorothée and Deux Montagnes.
However, the Anse-à-l’Orme branch heading west alongside Highway 40 and ending in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue will have to wait until next year to begin service. CDPQ-Infra did not return a request for comment. The REM’s builders announced last year it would put both branches into service by October, after a summer of testing on both branches. However, in recent months, the REM’s builders qualified its announcement, saying it would prioritize the Deux-Montagnes branch and that tests would ultimately determine the commissioning dates. Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue Mayor Paola Hawa said she was disappointed to hear about yet another delay, but said when the transit network extends to her municipality it will improve the lives of her residents. “We’re closer to the end than we are to the beginning. I know that it’s coming sooner or later. I would rather it be on time,” Hawa said. First announced in 2016, the REM is an automated light-rail network that was built by the province’s pension fund, the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. Now expected to cost $9.4 billion, the network is planned to have 26 stations covering 68 kilometres — covering about the same area as the city’s métro system.

So DM in November, not the worst option I guess
Nothing says November.
Also the article I believe is false in claiming they give a 30 day notice, unless this is the case and I’m misremembering
IIRC they have to provide a 30-day warning, so the other agencies can adapt.
Well there is this section from their article, now if they are wrong or not I could not say but I’m assuming they got some “leaks” / insider info
It is expected the REM will commission its Deux-Montagnes branch in November — after a period of tests.
Could they be confident enough to give the 30-day notice without the ‘marche à blanc’ even started?
