Ce sont deux situations complètement différentes quand même… Un métro doit être remplacé pendant 6 semaines et le financement vient de la CDPQ qui a les poches profondes.

The Laval metro extension closed Henri Bourassa for a while and buses were carrying people to and from Crémazie. Sauvé was the terminus but Crémazie has a bus loop so it was used for Laval. But these were regular Laval lines not a special service. There might have been a special shuttle from HB to Crémazie as well but I really don’t have more info

C’est la longueur des rames tout simplement. Le REM est qualifié de “léger” car il transporte pas le même nombre de passagers par rame qu’un métro lourd. Avec 4 voitures pour le métro REM versus 9 pour le métro STM.
Sinon les trains sont les mêmes que ceux utilisés dans des métros “lourds” comme à Sydney, le Grand Paris Express ou plusieurs réseaux en Inde.

Après Google Maps qui utilise un logo de métro, on dirait que Apple a fait aussi des modifications.
Désormais ils utilisent le logo générique de métro aussi, au lieu de celui d’un tramway. Aussi, la grosseur du logo est à parité avec le métro STM.
On dirait même que les stations du REM utilisent une police plus grosse…

Apple Maps has been using the metro logo on the map for 9 years now since transit support was added. Google Maps is new to this.
They used to use a dark blue version which went with the AMT Train logo, but updated it to the lighter version with eco trains changing to pink after I reported it a few years ago.
Additionally regarding the REM logo, it’s on the map but not part of the Montreal area’s cache. To see it, zoom into Quebec City, then go back to Montreal, and it will appear:

Alors s’agit-il officiellement de la ligne A du REM? Il semblerait qu’il y ait un flou artistique autour de la dénomination de la ligne après l’abandon du REM de l’Est.
Pour l’instant, ca devrait vraiment juste être A1, ca devra être MÀJ quand les branches nord et ouest ouvreront c’est sur!
A1 est juste la dénomination de la branche sud/Brossard.
Oh si tu parles du système au complet, oui ils utilisent encore la dénomination de Ligne A, e.g. dans le plan de l’ARTM. Ce sera à voir si (quand le plan des réseaux métropolitains est mis à jour) ça sera changé ou non, mais honnêtement je ne pense pas.

Je parlais du REM, qui a ouvert en 2023 et pas il y a 9 ans 
Avant Google utilisait un logo de tramway pour le REM, aussi petit qu’un arrêt de bus.
Il me semble aussi que Apple utilisait un logo de tramway pour le REM avant, mais bon je peux me tromper.
They did during the opening, because the REM said they used “tram” in their GTFS for some reason haha

Honestly, this is the first time I’ve seen a company misclassify its own system as light rail for years from the planning phase all the way into operation. It’s suprising especially for a system like the REM that clearly functions as a metro. Was this intentional, or just a strange oversight?
Perhaps it was easier to sell the project this way, as a separate system from the metro. A proposal for another metro system could have faced more opposition as being redundant to the STM. A light rail serving the suburbs sounds more complementary than competitive.

That’s fair point, and I can see how presenting it as a light rail system might’ve helped gain approval during the planning but now that the REM is operational, at this stage keeping it light rail label creates confusion. Globally, many cities have multiple metro systems managed by different agencies and its not a problem. The Ontario Line in Toronto doesnt have this problem its considered a metro even though its run by a different agency and during its planning and construction. Montreal should do the same and just consider the REM as a fifth metro line.

Techniquement, ce n’est pas la direction? Les branches sont appelées Ligne principale, Antenne Deux-Montagnes, Antenne Anse-à-l’Orme et Antenne YUL-Aéroport-Montréal-Trudeau. Via le site web du REM.
La signalétique dans les futures stations a déjà été installée partiellement.
