Le monde avance aussi. Le Grand Paris Express ajoutera 200 km au réseau automatisé parisien d’ici 15 ans; sans compter l’automatisation des lignes 4 et 13. Rien qu’à Vancouver avec l’extension jusqu’à Arbutus de la Millenium Line et celle jusqu’à Langley de l’Expo Line, on va voir se rajouter 22 km au Skytrain qui dépassera les 100 kms de long; et ce dès 2028.

There are hundreds of thousands of people who manage to sleep in noisy cities close to infrastructure. Just go ask the folks living near any freeway in the country. We could spend billions putting up sound barriers on every noisy bit of road or rail in the country but we don’t.

Effectivement…et nous, on va être jammé à 67km pour un méchant bout. A moins que la Caisse déploit un Rem2 sur la Rive Sud rapidement.
Pour l’est je ne crois plus à rien pour au moins 20 ans.
On va devoir se contenter du minuscule 6km ( non automatisé) de la ligne bleu …une vraie farce pour l’est.

Déjà qu’on en a certainement pour 10 ans avant l’ouverture du prolongement de la ligne bleue, vu qu’en plus, ils veulent remplacer le contrôle de train pour du CBTC. Quoi que ça sera un bon début pour automatiser le train par la suite.

Chrono has received the REM GTFS. There are some very interesting things to note:
- The data gives specific track info. For example, the south/west track will only be used for arrivals during rush hours, other times all the trains use the north/east track (closer to VIA trains).
- This currently means there are some issues, like Chrono shows two different stations for one, but it’s not that big of an issue
There is a 15 minute wait after the first train from Gare Centrale. This means if you can’t fit on the 5:35 am train, you have to wait till 5:50 am, after the first train from Brossard arrives at GC.- They just updated the schedule, there’s a normal 7 minute wait, not 15 minutes.

They are thankfully alternating the platforms for the first few departures, so that should help with crowding

But this alternating platform will be temporary no? I don’t see how this can be feasible once the stations upstream (McGill, etc) come online.
I believe it will be just for the opening day, first few trains, maybe?
I looked through the schedules for the next few weeks, and it looks like they’re maintaining the two-platform configuration until they open McGill. I guess once they do, it won’t be an issue anymore since they’ll be able to channel trains in from DM.

Every time I’ve checked the Chrono app, the schedule has changed lol, I don’t know if it’s them currently changing them, or if it’s just the Chrono app being buggy as usual

La Gare centrale va servir de terminus temporaire alors il est normal que pour le moment les trains peuvent être pris depuis n’importe quel quai… À moins qu’ils décident de faire rebrousser les rames sur les viaduc avant de récupérer les voyageurs à partir du bon quai. Après tout le système est entièrement automatisé alors il n’y aurait pas de difficulté et cela permettrait aux gens de s’habituer dès l’ouverture à prendre le train à Gare centrale du bon bord pour Brossard.
On a side note, sait-on d’où proviendront les rames qui seront mis en attente pour la correspondance quai-à-quai avec la ligne EXO Mascouche à la Côte-de-Liesse?
