This as absolutely nothing to do with the redesign of the network. Well before the city redoing Des Prairies there was a bus line. The 144. It disapeared with covid and with the new réseau the 47 took the place of the 144.
At the point of the image, the Brossard station is 5 minutes away but the 47 passes at an interval of 30 minutes. The other direction it passes every 15 minutes toward Panama but crosses 4 secteurs, the bus arrives around 20 minutes later at Panama

Oh I actually didn’t know about the existence of the 144. It’s a shame RTL got rid of so many bus lines and reduced the frequencies so much, the 47 would be way more useful if it was every 10-15 minutes both ways during rush hours, and every 20 minutes outside of rush hour

Je pense qu’un quartier aussi dense méritent une ligne de bus de proximité aux cœurs du quartier (Sur William/Ottawa). Cette ligne pourrait offrir un lien direct vers la future station de REM et le vieux Montréal aux résidents de GT. Pour la 35/36 sur notre dame le service est vraiment lent à l’heure de pointe vu le lourd Traffic automobile et le nombre de lumières. Sur Ottawa/William risque d’aller plus vite. Ce que j’espère est de bonifier le service de bus Nord/Sud au niveau du GT ouest, Example le 166 cote des neiges qui continue vers le sud sur Guy pour rejoindre GT ou PSC.
Pour quoi pas continuer sur Ottawa/William pour desservir directement les résidents de lowney et la future station du REM ? Les résidents sur la rue Wellington ont déjà plusieurs ligne de bus qui passe par la 107/74/61.
La rue Ottawa entre Peel et Robert-Bourassa est en conception actuellement.
Il faudra aussi enlever du stationnement tout de suite pour faire passer l’autobus.
La Ville ne sait toujours pas où mettre le quai d’autobus qui va desservir la station du REM car la CDPQi n’a pas encore partagé les plans finaux…

And by the way the redesign of the street was done to move overhead hydro lines to underneat pipelines. The work began in 2017… the hydro ploles are still not removed. The city thinks it should be totally completed sometime in 2025, but it as been pushed back many times.
Rtl also removed the 142 in saint Hubert which used to be a peak express from ch de Chambly to panama, but in this case they replaced it with the 442, 160 and doubled the 42 & 60 frequency.
Since we all know that the rem is being delayed to 2025…
Does this means that the stm will deploy the new bus without the rem being Essential for the connection downtown?
It literally says “selon la mise en service”, meaning they’ll deploy the network only once the REM opens

Why would they deploy a network before the REM? I mean that’s just common sense… They’ll wait until they have a final 30 day notice from CDPQ, and then announce every change to the buses

Not really, they announced the Nuns Island REM bus routes in May, while the line opened in July
À date il serait plus sage de dire qu’on le présume seulement. Même ceux ici qui disent qu’ils tiennent l’info de source sûre, je suis persuadé que leur source se fie à leur expérience et non à un échéancier officiel.
Internally, they do have a schedule for when they are testing different sections. The testing under the tunnel won’t begin until January 2025 as of now which likely means an opening in May 2025.
There might be a different schedule for construction of track, construction of emergency exits, but all these things need to be combined to make one schedule that CDPQ Infra shares with the public so they can be at least aware of what work is being done

Je crois qu’ils vont attendre que l’ouverture des autres branches du REM s’approche un peu plus.
Il va y avoir une annonce dans la première semaine de Juin pour la refonte de 20 lignes dans le secteur Lasalle/lachine et sud-ouest.
Aux dernières nouvelles la STM va toujours de l’avant pour l’implantation en date du 26 Aout 2024
