Obstruction - Work on the driveway of the REM electrical substation

Nature of work :
Work on the substation is scheduled from October 28 to November 8, 2024 daily, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
To carry out this work, an obstruction at the intersection of Dunkirk Road and Montgomery Avenue will be necessary, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., every day. Outside these hours, the street will be open. A detour is planned for motorists with adequate signage.

Is this a new substation or was it there already for the old line

It is a new one. The old one was about 200m further north.
The new catenary is 1.5kVdc compared to 25kVac as before. You can imagine that almost nothing can be reused. We have a complete rectifier/transformer group to convert the voltage inside every sub-station…
I know it’s not the same equipment, was just curious about relocation

Des travaux pour la sous-station sont prévus du 28 octobre au 8 novembre 2024 de façon journalière, de 7 h à 17 h.
Pour réaliser ces travaux, une entrave à l’intersection du chemin Dunkirk et du chemin Côte-de-Liesse sera nécessaire, de 7h à 17h, chaque jour. En dehors de ces heures, la rue sera ouverte. Un détour est prévu pour les automobilistes avec de la signalisation adéquate.

Poste de redressement installé près de Canora. Restauration des bandes piétonnes et végétales. Escalier d’intervention/évacuation près de la caserne de VMR.
