Nature of work:
Anti-graffiti work and the installation of noise barriers are planned for August under the structure of the REM railway tracks on Grenet Street and will cause a partial obstruction to traffic. Traffic will still be possible.
Depending on the progress of the work, there will be a closure of one southbound lane and then a northbound lane between Henri-Bourassa Boulevard from either Dudemaine or Ranger streets. A sidewalk will be opened on one side depending on the position of the obstruction.

Impacts and mitigation measures :
- A partial closure of the traffic lanes on Grenet Street will be necessary**, but traffic will still be possible.**
- Maintaining an open sidewalk for pedestrians at all times on either side depending on the progress of the work.
- This work can generate noise and dust. Follow-up will be carried out by the environmental teams.

Also of notes, they removed a couple of construction sites from the map including E-M, Canora, TMR, … Till BF who also no longer show as a construction site.
So take it as you wish for the construction sites.

Also, I’m glad to say the grill they’ve installed is only above the tracks so you can still get beautiful views from the sides.
I really have to assume that those grills where mainly installed due to the live wires being so close

I would assume they were installed so that you can’t drop something on the tracks (or jump).

In general, yes, but it also prevents road and vehicle debris from being launched directly onto the tracks by accident – similar to the temporary snow fences we see installed on highway overpasses during the winter.

Le métro de NY est l’un des plus importants au monde mais crime qu’est-ce leur infrastructure fait dure. Un chef d’œuvre d’ingénierie qui a malheureusement été négligé pendant plusieurs décennies.

Leur problème va bien au delà de la simple négligence. Le niveau d’eau a montré de plus d’un pied depuis la construction de la première ligne. Ça crée des problèmes d’infiltration d’eau majeur, particulièrement aux stations les plus basses. L’eau rentre par les grilles de ventilations et les entrés de stations. Il va falloir qu’ils surélèvent tout cela, mais ça va être très difficile dans un environnement aussi densément bâti.
