OH, the latest chrono update Added the translation file of the RTC, StLevis & MRCJ. FINALLY

All we need now is for the rad40 machine to get the translation file installed

This is how is looks rn on the rtc app and how it used to look on Chrono

I am willing to bet that the ARTM spent a lot of money for the design, but the implementation is very rough, and probably not as much, or just poor management of the project.

App, UI design: Chrono :: Behance

I found the original UI design for Chrono on Behance :

Some of the design elements that they had designed is very confusing for a transit app…

Custom chrono opus cards… Why of all thing we never got ANY fancy opus designs in EVER… Same design never for any reason anything custom…

We could have Gotten a rtl design for it’s 50th anniversary and cdpq would have absolutely offered a rem design to the opus card for its opening…

All we ever got was exo branded ocasional cards… (Solo)

We have a branded ticket (oshega weekend) but can’t make any fancy tickets…

Our neighbors at Metrolink instead just does things like this…

hsr150-presto

And the list literally goes on

Speaking through my hat here, but a lot of downtown office workers are now hybrid. It’s more advantageous to buy 10 ABC tickets than a monthly ABC pass if you’re only using public transit two days a week to get into town.

Chrono won’t let me load 10 ABC all modes tickets on my Opus card, but maybe that’s me.

Do you have a standard OPUS card by any chance? The app should tell you what kind of card you have under the OPUS logo when you first scan it.

The app tells me that my card does not support any of these for my card.

I literally saw your message, told myself, “I don’t have time for that”, and bought a new Occasionnelle.
Time stamp proof.

Seriously though, the system is broken.

BTW thank you, I looked into it and apparently I do have a standard Opus card, and I guess the next step is learn what other card I should have.

My snide comment wasn’t toward you but the process that is overly complicated and will frustrate the everyday user, when it should be as user-friendly as possible if we want to encourage transit usage.

If your going to buy abc tickets, go to Vaudreuil or Ile perrot for a discount with your 10 pack the discount will basically be the price of 10 ab for 10 abc

Why does Chrono even exist? STM shoulda just paid Transit app a bit and granted all Mtl users Transit Royale

The ARTM is responsible for Chrono, not the STM. In 2018, the STM announced a project in collaboration with Transit and other partners, but in 2019, the ARTM took over the project (and killed the STM’s version of the project). There was a great article in La Presse about the story.

In my opinion, if looks like the STM and Transit have a good relationship since they developed the detour functionality together.

You would need an ABC OPUS card according to the ARTM. (Yes I know, the system is insanely broken).

It’s sad to discover even more reasons to dislike the ARTM. Even sadder that public funds were used to develop a redundant app.

What’s crazy is Chrono has cost them $6 million, and it literally just uses the data from Google. The REM for example wasn’t added to Google Maps until several weeks after the opening, so it worked on Transit App fine but not the “official” application recommended, Chrono.

On the other hand, the REM says to use Transit App, Google Maps, and Chrono for alerts, and STM says to use Chrono or Transit for getting tickets on the 747. In my personal opinion, like yours, just get the ARTM to pay Transit App yearly instead of Chrono which barely works.

Chrono Mobile utilise les données en temps réel qui lui sont poussées par Chrono SAEIV.

Il be honest the chrono Recharge OPUS beta App was perfect for an app, just do what chrono is used for “that opus card app”

10 septembre 2024 • Terminus La Prairie
