It’s only for International flights
So also US? (as far as i know they international)
Not likely.
Let’s face it, it’s the international market that is hot at YUL
No, if anything it could be a domestic/international satellite jetty, but not US, since it requires preclearance.
It’s most likely going to serve international flights.
Transborder is hot too, but as mentioned, US CBP requires a sterile facility, which isn’t really easily done at a satellite facility fed by shuttle buses.
It’s a pretty disappointing terminal compared to the previous proposal
We must be airport nerds if we use the word ‘‘hot’’ for Montreal terminal
This proposal is future-proofed for a larger new terminal in the future.
Montreal – Barcelona 27OCT24 – 01DEC24 Increase from 5 to 7 weekly, A330-300
Montreal – Delhi eff 27OCT24 Increase from 4 weekly (5 from 03DEC24) to 7 weekly, 787-9
Montreal – Rome Fiumicino 27OCT24 – 29NOV24 450-seater 777-300ER replaces 400-seater, 3 weekly (Planned A330-300 from 01DEC24 unchanged)
Montreal – Sao Paulo Guarulhos eff 06DEC24 450-seater 777-300ER replaces 787-9, 5 weekly
Not bad 7 weekly DEL
Announcement of some kind at YUL, I believe for the Thai Express:
The sign is digital so I couldn’t get a photo of it. It’s a bit animated
And 77W to Sao Paulo… we truly are starting to have a more global network and it seems to work.
Apparently Brazil-Asia routes are a huge connection vector at YUL.
Really? there’s only one daily flight to NRT?
That is interesting. I hope we eventually get a few more nonstops to Asia to help grow this. Taipei, Hong Kong, Manila and perhaps another destination in China. Baby steps though.
GIG and EZE maybe one day?
I wish too. Rio though is closer to São Paulo than Montreal is to Toronto and it’s more of a vacation destination. I’ve noticed over the years more airlines have dropped it in favour of São Paulo. Personally I’d rather go to Rio… looks like an awesome city.
