New UI is being used on the exo trains at Gare Centrale now, lots of burnin on the displays:

Great! A unified UI for both bus and train service! I’ll gladly take that, even if it’s served with a side of burn-in…

However, as it’s served as a webpage (at least from what I saw at Sainte-Thérèse and Blainville on the few occasions when there was a server error), I think that a little tweaking on the CSS side of things could adjust the page for both 16:9 (landscape) and 9:16 (portrait) displays, making much better use of screen space.

I agree, there are issues with this also not loading the logo, but from what I saw they’re using a cursed version, a pink variant of the old Train logo, instead of updating everything. Additionally the train number should be in a box to match the signage, similar to the REM

I’m curious, when they chose the colors to replace the old ones, did they consider which colors show properly on screen? Even the very best screen are unable to show about 3% of the RGB color space. Lower quality screen also tend to suffer from issues with contrast color bleeding. Light bleeding is also a major issue that makes darker colors next to impossible to show.
I’ve seen this display in April 2025, but I’ve never seen the other ones.
I’m happy to see progress, and I want to believe that if we’ve succeeded in making this change that we can still go back and do more.
Because it’s kind of a hot mess.
- The line items refer to the right line numbers, but as @mashdash should be the square icon, or at the very least the line colour in the bg.
- The 9:16 ratio (portrait) display can still use some loving.
- The board headings still refer to old line abbreviations … SH, MA … and DM? Really?! I guess G101 is some internal identifier for the station… has no business shown on screen
- VIA on its track board (can’t remember if they changed the big departure board) is still using short-lived “exoN” format line numbers
I really wish we could implement 9:16 departure boards on the traditional gates to the REM platforms.
And, if they really want to blow my socks off, they would include the next REM departures on the main boards. I imagine these are different platforms that probably don’t talk to each other OOTB, and the REM needs to work on its real-time displays. But from a passenger’s perspective if I go to Central Station to take the REM for the first time, I’m not intuiting that the R with a green line through it is where I’m supposed to go, and none of the other indicators visible from the concourse help me.

I tried to imagine what the master public transit departure board could look like.
Still a hot mess. Did I just make it worse? I guess that’s why I’m not a designer. 
One interesting challenge: the REM platforms are numbered differently from the station train tracks. Which I knew, but didn’t realize the challenge until I put it down here.
We should probably update the platform numbers at the top of the steps to match the REM platform numbers, no?

Je n’aime pas les combiner, car le train et le REM ont deux fréquences différentes. J’aimerais voir sur l’écran, au moins les départs du train pour la prochaine heure, versus juste quelques minutes pour le REM.
Donc, je trouve c’est mieux de garder le train avec son propre écran et le REM avec son propre écran. Pour les bus, vu qu’ils desservent plutôt le terminus centre-ville, à une distance assez significante de la gare Centrale, il ne devrait pas avoir d’annonce de départs du Gare Centrale, mais plutôt au terminus centre-ville, puisque c’est là bas que tu attends pour le bus.
Cependant, je vois l’utilité d’afficher les navettes de REM lors de son fermeture à l’entrée du station REM (peut-être qui remplace les informations des prochains départs du REM avec les informations des navettes), et bien indiquer que les navettes arrêtent dans un endroit complètement différent.

J’ai inclus la navette REM dans l’optique qu’ils ne resteront pas au TCV après cet été, de ce que j’ai compris.
Je comprends ce que tu dis pour la fréquence du REM. On pourrait peut-être juste afficher le prochain départ dans chaque direction.

Je pense que le rem est tout simplement trop fréquent pour être intégré avec exo et via. Un train aux 2 minutes pis un train au 60 minutes ça marche pas bien ensemble. Mieux vaut avoir des écrans rem dans le salle des pas perdus et des écrans exo/via/Amtrak.

exact. mélanger du fréquent et du non-fréquent ça enlève de l’info importante sur le non-fréquent. Le transport fréquent doit être à part.

La STM attends l’ouverture officielle du REM avant de mettre la signalétique pour diriger les utilisateurs vers ses stations.
Mais il n’aurait pas été plus judicieux de ne juste rien mettre? Le nouveau panneau était inexacte jour 1.

Dans le cas des bus de nuit, pourquoi indiquer des correspondances avec des services fermés durant la nuit?
