STM - Refonte du réseau bus

Atwater being called accessible is a bit of a stretch in my opinion. It 100% relies on Place Alexis-Nihon, which sometimes has problems with their own elevator(I’ve been living here 3 years, it broke down at least 5-6 times).

On top of that, everybody is forced to leave by the édicule on Maisonneuve as soon as shops close at the mall(IGA closes at 10 pm), which means that between 10pm and 1am, the station becomes unaccessible again.

I for myself am not affected by it, but for the STM to call it like that and rely on a private partner, it seems like it wasn’t really thought out properly.

At least it’s better than every single sign with a gold square that the STM refuse to remove for some reason or the TMR train bus signs that they kept with the new purple signs… Instead of removing them…

It’s only $11 if you need to get the unlimited day pass. If you have the monthly pass it covers the 747.

But not sure what this has to do with bus redesign, this should be talked about in Billettique et tarification metropolitaine

If the airport REM station keeps monthly passes people can use it for regular transit and more redesigned lines can go there

In old documents, it was talked about possibly increasing it to $15 (it’s essentially a fee towards AMD from what I can understand), but no word since then or if that’ll still be the case

If ARTM/REM still allow monthly users there should be many buses going there. You have plenty of high intensity education/health workplaces near Monpetit station. Even if Exo still goes downtown the REM would be a faster path for Monpetit

The STM appears confident that local bus routes will still service the airport (along with the REM station). The question is from which parts of the West Island, St-Laurent and the Greater Southwest of Montreal Island has demand for bus service there without risking service reliability via Dorval Terminus.

Options noted in the consultation:

  • Keep the status quo: 204, 209 and 460
  • Add a frequent shuttle bus between Dorval Terminus and the airport terminal. (Which may lead to the 204 or 209 being considered for a reroute away from the airport or realigned directly from other areas)
  • Add or modify a bus route to serve the airport without impacting service reliability locally at Dorval Terminus and beyond. This is where perhaps a bus line from the Lachine-LaSalle consultation has yet been considered to serve the airport.

I think the concern brought up about transit user access to the REM YUL Aéroport Montréal-Trudeau station (and the fare cost) could be that in the initial agreement, the fare to go to and from this location be set to cost more or equivalent to the one-way on the 747 express bus (which to be restructured at that point for overnight service only or when the REM is out of service or redirected to perhaps Angrignon Metro Station - outside the non-concurrence zone) than any other REM station. I would hope that transit users with monthly passes still access the new REM station at the airport without a surcharge.

Took the chance to ask a replacement of the 747-2 with a 747-2 des-sources since the 747-2 only job is to get people to any metro station and added dorval terminus as a connection in the middle.

There will be an interim link to des Sources done by ADM.

Who will serve this shuttle tho? Adm or the STM as a contractor?

Whoever does it. I still want them to have a stop in the Dorval Terminus as a way to connect that terminus to the airport proper

Yeah I totally agree with a regular line that would do Sources, ADM, Exo. In fact tweaking the 209 to do just that and expand hours would be great.

The interim shuttle only has to get ARTM blessing but maybe the STM will be called in with a special line as “mesure d’atténuation” by the MTQ with ADM approval. I’m not saying anything specific will happen, that has not been answered.

To me 747 in the end should go to Angrignon to avoid people from western green line going back on their tracks and also have a link to South West subub area.

Angrignon to Dorval already could be a normal line and from Dorval the new 747 (Dorval/yul) could be used to go to the airport.
