I think they have to put the traffic lights in service in advance before the new branch opens to the public, since, if I remember correctly, according to the standards and guides of the Ministry of Transportation, new traffic lights systems must be putting in flashing red mode for at least a month before starting to work normally, since drivers who are used to use the usual road everyday, must become aware that a new traffic light will be in service on this road and will have to respect it…
lots of videos in two weeks…..what’s the over/under on accidents every day……
Based on the timestamp, I took a picture of the train at 1:45 a few seconds earlier from the other side of the tracks.
Joli petit lac. Parfait pour les canards. ![]()

I don’t know when it happened, but they have installed traffic lights on the service road, where there are now the temporary stop signs. They are not active yet, and have the orange sign “Feux en service Printemps 2026”.
Probably for the best, since it’s much easier for someone unfamiliar with the area to miss the stop sign

Connaissez-vous la station Kirkland?
Ce printemps, l’antenne Anse-à-l’Orme sera mise en service. Apprenez-en plus la station Kirkland.
They have been there for a few weeks already, and were “supposed” to be operaitonal by March 13th
The station is moored in what was previously the main storm drain catch basin of the town of Kirkland, doubling as a huge dog run during dry conditions. During the spring thaw of the 2019 floods, the water rose to nearly street-level. A new stormwater catch basin was excavated to the east of the large Rosefellow industrial development at the northwest corner of St-Charles and the service road.
I took some photos when it happened - the land was beeing prepared for the start of the REM construction almost 7 years ago!
