Expropriation?
This form of bike paths are so dated. We should transform the street to be sidewalks on each side, bike lanes against the sidewalks, area for greenery between both bike lanes and sidewalks, maybe parking on one or two sides, then the car lanes in the middle, the way it’s set up is lopsided and when we develop on the south side of the road it will be harder to access by bike
And this is a brand new area! Wilfrid Reid was opened mabye around 2016, the bike lane was just asphalt without markings until a year or two ago.
The same design continues on Kenneth Patrick and they are now also building it along Harry Halton.
They also didnt think to designate delivery/drop of no parking areas in front of the condo buildings so this main entry to the whole Bois Franc area gets blocked by drivers leaving their cars unattended on the warnings in the middle of the street. Very bad overall design for all road users.
So will this passage between henri Bourassa to the rem at the light between marcel laurin and Wilfred section be built. As of now there is still a fence blocking and if someone from the new condos or houses in the bois franc area will have to walk 10-20 min to reach the station instead of maybe 3-5 min?
I wish they made a larger varient to be useful around schools and busier lines, then it could be put on the future “frequent corridors” in BUS+. We could even implement a standard signage for all of them, to be consistent across the networks
