The new Ste-catherine street is designed this way with a “lane and a half” width to allow deliveries and force traffic to go around which creates a “natural” chicane however it kind of back fired because when theres traffic, people form 2 lanes of traffic and when there isn’t, deliveries and people stopping for a few minutes almost always go up the sidewalk due to its low profile because they feel like they obstruct traffic too much staying on the road
