Like i said recently in another subject, exo information is bilingual for any kind of non-standardism on the vh line
I have an audio recording but it’s very windy and i Can’t upload a m4a

Hey folks, I have a question regarding This page posted by the RTM back in 2018 I believe (there is no date on the page). On there, it mentions that they were going to buy 20 more bombardier BiLevels (2000 series), but from what I can see online, it seems as if this never went through. Did they ever actually purchase the 20 more 2000 series, or did they just replace that order with the CRRC ones?
The type 2000 cars are the BiLevel type, which is different from the MultiLevel, the 3000s. They are indeed the CRRC; never ordered from Bombardier. The page you mentions as a type, and not necessarily an order.
Ok, thank you for the clarification!

It’s pretty cool that for 23 years, the rush-hour trains consistently took about 27 minutes from Roxboro to Montreal, and 30 minutes on the outbound afternoon run. With more frequent service and shorter trains and dwell times, I’m curious how much less time it will take for the same trips beginning late next year (in the real world).
Also cool to note that during the CTCUM years, there were just four inbound rush-hour trains, and they took ~40 minutes to do the run, and ~45 minutes for the outbound return trips. Of course, that’s if they weren’t delayed. I’ve spent more time in the dark, dank tunnel just before Portal Heights than I care to remember!
Me too. On the other hand there will be three new stops between Du Ruisseau and Central Station which won’t help transit time.
https://rem.info/fr/se-deplacer/stations-du-reseau/pierrefonds-roxboro
Seems to me that the real gains aren’t gonna be in travel times but rather in the improved connections and especially wait times, particularly off-peak where the travel times break even but the wait time is quartered. Show up and go in west island is insane to think about.
Delays are pretty important tho. The DM train used to break down a lot. When i took it daily 2017-2020 it felt like it was 1-2 times per week that there was significant delays of 15-20+ mins (that cascade down trains since IIRC it was running close to track capacity). The REM so far shows impeccable reliability which will be massive, as people no longer need to worry about getting stuck and missing their class/work/etc
