I wonder, for the tunnel it self if they would install lte repeaters? We will have Wi-Fi no matter what but for calls Wi-Fi won’t cut it
I think most carriers (besides mine) have WiFi calling now. Do you still need an LTE signal for that?
Le wifi du train doit relayer ensuite sur le réseau cellulaire. Alors pas de LTE dans le tunnel, pas de wifi non plus.

Tu veux dire par l’alimentation electrique du train? Je serais vraiment curieux de savoir si ca marcherait. C’est quand meme capricieux même à l’intérieur d’une maison. Ça serait vraiment intéressant si ça pouvait être fiable dans le cas d’une telle installation électrique.

Yea that, on the consumer side yea it can be unreliable but then we are also dealing with injecting a signal in a already dirty ac 60 Hertz baseline.
Here we are dealing with a DC signal using enterprise equipment, it could absolutely be done with substations being the injection points

It’s extremely slow and inefficient, it’s easier to have cellular boxes in the tunnel like the metro does, and the REM communicates to them for wifi to also work
On the consumer side yea, on the professional/enterprise side it’s another story. But yea having repeaters in the tunnel would be a 2 birds 1 stone
It definitely won’t work with a catenary. Despite the pantograph being pressed hard against the catenary, the contact is far from perfect. It introduces a lot of parasites in the current.

They don’t send the CBTC signals down the power wire either.
Il ne faut pas commencer à être fancy et innover avec des idées niches. Utilisons les méthodes utilisés dans les autres réseaux de transports dans le monde.
Bref, restons génériques. Être unique coûte cher, et on a pas les fonds pour alimenter cette exclusivité.
Si on parle de relayer le wifi dans un train en mouvement, ça prend une technologie fiable pour des relayer un signal d’un appareil. Le cellulaire est fait pour ça. La 5G particulièrement s’adapte bien aux Shinkansen.

Yeah to go with this, the social media manager usually isn’t someone that knows a lot about tech normally, so they say to move to that platform, then IT figure out the technical stuff like the tag later

Often, the social media manager is in the Communications department not IT
And depending on the size of the company, the person who has access to the configuration of the domain could be in the Sourcing department as they are responsible to pay the account, not IT 
it could take weeks to have everything set up if they have to go through multilevels of approval!
