Tous de 4 voitures! Même hors pointe. Pour être franc depuis 2 mois j’ai jamais vu aucun train de 2 voitures.

La marche à blanc s’est faite exclusivement avec des rames à 4 voitures
Avec l’engouement du public, je ne pense pas qu’on va voir des rames à 2 voitures bientôt

Even during rush hours, it was basically empty not in peak direction, right before the problems (around 8:15). There were maybe 12 people total in it

Thanks Mashdash for finding this out, but it looks like there’s still issues with the Switch at GC, so they’re routing trains between IDS and Panama.

My guess is because it’s late, they’re testing it now to work on it, and continue working on it overnight until tomorrow morning, so that they can run at a slightly higher frequency. This afternoon they only ran trains from one track at GC which was fine but slower than they wanted.
Separately, both escalators aren’t working at Nun’s Island (I shared before), and also two elevators, one at Brossard, and another at Du Quartier are out of service

Hoping for progress tomorrow on the elevators and escalators though.
I saw a lot of Otis technicians around the place today, so they must be taking it seriously

Were the rules of the dry-run ignored? Did they really ever honestly have ten straight days without issues while running at full service frequencies? That now seems hard to believe.

Looking at it - it did seem incredibly fast between the announcement of the dry runs and service start, but I guess we won’t ever find out

J’ai été chanceux, juste après être sorti à Panama, sur le chemin du retour vers Montréal en auto j’ai vu le train arrêté sur le pont IDS. Ce soir tous les trains à la GC étaient sur la voie la plus à l’ouest (celle qui sera à terme la direction Brossard). Peut être qu’ils n’alternaient pas afin de ne pas risquer une interruption?
Sinon, c’est vrai qu’il semble un peu lent dans la section entre IDS et le Centre-Ville (± 50 kmh tout le long), je ne suis pas trop sur si c’est à cause du bruit ou juste pour rendre le voyage plus agréable pour les voyageurs. Les courbes sont énonamment serrées!
Mis à part les pépins d’aiguillage d’aujourd’hui c’est vraiment un beau système, digne d’une ville de classe mondiale, on a presque pas l’impression d’arriver à Montréal sur le pont Champlain et à l’approche de la GC. Il y a quelques années à peine on avait des autobus à contresens sur un pont qui tenait avec un “super band-aid”, sur une voie délimitée avec des cônes chaque matin.
C’est rafraîchissant d’enfin voir un projet d’infrastructure d’une telle envergure et d’une telle qualité, réalisé dans un temps plus que raisonnable, dont on peut être fiers, même s’il est imparfait. Ca prouve que lorsqu’on veut, on peut encore réaliser de belles choses au Québec.
Maintenant, reste plus qu’à régler cette histoire d’aiguillage, atténuer le bruit à Griffintown et enfin ouvrir le troncon ouest!!!

Ca fait du bien voir un journaliste qui fait aon taff d’investigation, plutôt qu’uniquement écouter ceux qui se plaignent activement. Aussi intéressant la remarque que les absorbeur déjà installés diminuent le son de 10dB, si je me rappelle bien ça veut dire deux fois moins de bruit juste avec ça? Je pensais pas que l’effet serait autant grand.

I convinced my mom who was coming to visit to park at Brossard instead of Longueuil to take the REM with me. She was obviously stunned by it but I had to explain quite a lot about how it worked and what was to come.
Another person was listening to me and asked if I worked for CDPQi because of all the information I knew. I may have quoted the forum a few times.
All in all it was fun and I spent most of the day riding it!

I was going to take my sister for lunch at Dix30 tomorrow, parking somewhere downtown and boarding at Centrale, but now I’m not so sure we’ll do it before they work out the kinks.
Does anybody really know if they followed the terms of the contract’s dry-run period? At this point it seems unlikely they had 10 (or 30?) trouble-free days in a row at full service frequencies before announcing a start date.
