I agree. That purple has made a terrible presence for the last few years - I do not feel it belongs in Montreal. We have our signature St-Marc stone and traditional clay brick (often bricks were made on the site - kitty cats walked on them while they dried at night and have left their prints). There is a history of our local building materials - think of the Brownstones of the UWS of Manhattan or Brooklyn, the red clay of Baltimore…
Although there is certainly room for new construction materials and urban ‘language’ - we should maintain an identity and carry it with playful ways of use. The texture created in the Golden Sq Mile project recently highlighted on this forum demonstrates this (sorry - I don’t recall the name of that project).
