So currently in Quebec thanks to those in power.
-
We have a bill that targets people based on religious/spiritual symbols (imposes on rights and freedoms + creates systemic racism and discrimination)
1A. We have a teacher shortage and are hiring unqualified people
1B. We still have the highest dropout rates in North America
1C. We are one of the most, if not, most illiterate jurisdiction in North America. -
A bill that can possibly destroy businesses by imposing on rights and freedoms, the courts, increases red tape and gives police powers (in addition to everything else I said in the Loi 96 forum)
-
Healthcare system is in shambles, 720,000 waiting to see a specialist, 1M+ without a family doctor, healthcare shortages, lack of investment. Makes you wonder where all the transfer payments actually end up going.
-
Little to no investment in social/affordable housing, just announcements with no merit.
-
The government thinks Quebecers are only worth a $500 tax credit (or if you were affected by mudslides, $20 a day and food vouchers)
-
Looming recession + high interest rates + lack of investment in health/education/social + job killing legislation.
-
A major lawsuit for $18B, 2 charter challenges for Bill 96 (with about 4-6 more planned), another going to the SC for sure = lack of ethics and accountability.
-
A government that wants to erode individual rights for collective rights (which leads to a hierarchy, tribalism and more rights for people based on their language and ethnicity)
I can go on, but the fact that the CAQ are still projected to win a majority makes me question the values and integrity of voters. It also makes me wish that voting was mandatory and that we change first past the post and change the electoral system overall. I hope people here wake up.
