la conférence annuelle de la North American Bikeshare & Scootershare Association aura lieu à Montréal du 15 au 17 octobre

The NABSA Annual Conference is the only shared micromobility-focused conference globally and serves as the leading cross-sector gathering space for shared micromobility professionals. NABSA is the shared micromobility industry’s membership organization with representation from system owners, operators, host cities, equipment providers, and technology and service providers.

During this multi-day conference, attendees experience the host location’s shared micromobility systems and street infrastructure firsthand during mobile workshops, learn from and share ideas with shared micromobility peers at panel sessions, connect with exhibitors, hear inspiring plenary speakers, and network with colleagues from all over the world. In addition to learning, the conference includes multiple evening social events, and is a great place to network and socialize with others in the industry!

The North American Bikeshare and Scootershare Association’s (NABSA) Conference will join the streets of Montreal, Canada, next month.

From October 15th to 17th, the annual event will convene Montreal’s Mayor Valérie Plante with global transportation leaders, practitioners, operators and providers to address the shared micromobility industry’s most pressing challenges.

The conference follows the promising trends revealed in NABSA’s sixth annual Shared Micromobility State of the Industry Report for North America, which found that ridership hit a record high in 2024 for the second year in a row.

Montreal’s shared micromobility system BIXI will be hosting this year’s conference. Christian Vermette, General Manager at BIXI, said that it’s a “proud and meaningful moment” for the operator with Montreal having “long been a leader in bikeshare.”

“BIXI is not just a service, it’s a movement that has shaped our bike lane network, strengthened community ties, and transformed how people move through the city,” Christian said.

Last year, BIXI recorded 13 million trips on its system and has 12,000 bikes and 1,000 stations now deployed across Montreal and neighbouring communities.

Lyft Urban Solutions, which provides technology for the BIXI system, will join the conference as a presenting sponsor. Caroline Samponaro, Vice President, Head of External Affairs at Lyft Urban Solutions, calls Montreal a “world-class cycling city” and believes that shared micromobility has proven “its essential role” across all of North America.

This year’s NABSA Conference has the theme ‘Momentum: The Power of Shared Micromobility’ to reflect shared micromobility’s continuous growth and resilience.

Sessions will cover advocacy and sustainability, partnerships and collaboration, parking and planning, and storytelling and community engagement. Attendees will also get a closer look at the BIXI system and Montreal’s street infrastructure, and hear from Mayor Plante about how shared micromobility helped Montreal become a globally recognised bicycle-friendly city.
