Poland is developing Europe’s fastest and most modern rail network, which will carry almost 800 million passengers a year at speeds of up to 350 km/h, Prime Minister Donald Tusk has said.
The Integrated Railway Network (ZSK) involves the construction of 4,700 kilometers of new track, Tusk told a Wednesday press conference.
Of this, 2,700 km will be for high-speed trains running at up to 350 km/h with the remaining 2,000 km being for conventional rolling stock. An additional 5,600 km of line will be modernized, Tusk said.
