Un piège de bip bip au coyote. :-)))
Delivering stuff that is too large to go in the station through other entrances.
It’s so that @SameGuy can come in with a splendid entrance and say, it’s huge.
They are doors to two electrical rooms.
They are there so that large (and heavy) equipment can be delivered without using the public areas.
This is the finished look (no stairs will be installed).
At most stations these rooms are at ground level but Kirkland is special…
Is this electrical room for the station only or is it also for the traction current supply?
Both.
One of the electical rooms feeds the substation that is located near to ch. Sainte-Marie
Both of the electrical rooms feed the station loads (fully redundant with transfer switches)
I see. So like in the Metro’s case, there are feeder stations fed from Hydro-Québec powering trackside transformer-rectifiers.
Edit: And I suppose the high-voltage feeders on the West Island branch are on the viaduct, with HV drop-downs to the rectifier bungalows which then send DC back up to the catenary?
Yes. The west island branch is powered from the HQ injection point (double feed redundant) at the Anse-à-Orme station.
Yes. HV drop-downs to the station and then to the rectifier bungalows and then to the catenary. On the West island branch, all the traction sub-stations are in prefabricated bungalows.
IT HUGE !! WE------------!!!

It’s not small.
So slow… Construction work is moving like a turtle… And why is Jean-Yves still blocked off?
They clearly shifted ressources on the DM branch to open it in 2 weeks.
