Station Kirkland

First we need the city of Montreal to remember that they made an fake promise to build an overpass, then we need the city of Montreal to willingly chose to spend some money outside the city of Montreal, then we need to wait for the next municipal government to take over cus those 2 steps will never happened and then we need to rince and repeat for the next century or 20

Why would the city of Montreal spend money for a project not in their territory

left side of image is the highway 40 overpass rev

Also it will be forced as a aglo thing and they hate being forced to spend money on not them and they love forcing us to spend money on them (useless bronze doors that could have been just plywood)

Bon point. L’agglomération de Montréal par contre, pourrait peut-être le faire?

Kirkland and Roxboro are the last remaining bus loops to build ?

Idk what these structures are for but they are new

At the same time, here’s the progress on the under tilework

I believe they’re for the metal handrails that will have the button to open the doors on it, as the doors open outwards

I still can’t understand why they removed the work cameras…

Otis worksite signs have appeared in the Kirkland station. I’m assuming they’re working on installing and calibrating the elevators now

It’s huge.

Just how big is the station if you had to put it in words?

I heard that it was big, but like how big?

It is about four floors tall (about 18 metres maybe), which makes it taller than everything else in the area, which are only about one floor tall (about 4 metres). There are not many buildings close to the station as well, with the highway and park on each side, so it stands out even more. The reason it reaches this height is because further along the REM’s route it has to go over a bridge that goes over the highway.

In addition to the station being a large box around the REM’s elevated structure, there is a connected enclosed pedestrian bridge under the REM tracks and over the road (at 2nd floor level), to allow pedestrians to enter from both sides of the street, and to connect it to a bus loop. So the structure isn’t just tall, but longer than usual.

Thank you. i can imagine something with that description

The height of the roof of the station is 24 metres above the sidewalk along the Transcanada Service Road, and the base of the foundation drops into the bottom of the dog run, about 5 metres below street level.

Or put another way, if you are standing in the dog run with your dog, the platforms are the penthouse of a 10-storey condo building. It’s easily the tallest structure between Saint Charles and the veterans hospital.
