I got direct confirmation from them that they are using the manual elevators that belong to Park Canada as an alternative and hey they have 2 of them
Please take some video if you get a chance! Old elevators are so cool. I rode the oldest manually-operated cage lift in Australia last year, at Brisbane City Hall clock tower. 1930!

Dans le cadre du nouveau plan de relève, les arrêts des navettes REM seront déplacés à l’extérieur devant la Gare Centrale dans le but de faciliter la vie des clients d’après un agent de sûreté du REM à qui j’ai posé la question.

Construction will most likely happen during the night. What I suspect is that they will close the network early to allow them to have a few extra hours of work each day.
