Ouvrages d'art Antenne Anse à l'Orme

Nope. Some — but not all — of them have been strung, but still only tensioned as far as Chemin de l’Anse-à-l’Orme. I was just on site.

One last section remains on the Anse à l’orme branch for cantilever arms installation between Fairview-Pointe-Claire station and Charles E Frost St.

Past that section, the first overhead cables can be seen around Saint-Charles Blvd.

Here’s a picture of the overhead wires and cantilevers around the level of the INSQ laboratory. Also, I wasn’t able to take a clear photo, but I believe the rails may have been installed outside the maintenance center. Take it with a grain of salt, though, because I wasn’t able to get a proper unobstructed view of the area surrounding the depot.

They have started redoing the dirt next to the 40 overpass on saint-charles… Where a station SHOULD have been

I was going to mention this. They’ve also levelled the soil under the structure along the service road, and spray-seeded like any other shitty highway median.

Does anyone know what is attached to the pole? It’s in front of the Canadian Tire in Kirkland. There are two of them in a row shown in the first image and I don’t see them anywhere else along the Anse-à-l’Orme branch.

I live between the highways but can’t hear highway 40 so i have to assume it’s the tree canopy that helps with that. But i hate FAR more the noise from fire house 55 and expecialy boul Saint jean.

I do want to ask you to keep an eye (well ears) out for the rail grinder. It should start tomorrow night

Do they really need to perform accoustic grinding along the 40?? There is already background trafic noise covering the REM.

I’m guessing it also reduces wear and tear on the tracks and allows them to last longer, because the sound is coming from the friction between the wheels and the track.

If you don’t have the entire network acoustically grinded at the same level, then it’s of no use in the sections that need it the most.

We don’t need an addition of noise, that’s the point. Sound is summed; the highway noise won’t mask any excess noise from the rails 15 metres above, it will be in addition to it.

West Island Coffee Meeting - Presentation of the approach to noise

July 18, 2024
from 2 PM to 8 PM

DoubleTree par Hilton Pointe-Claire Montréal Aéroport Ouest
6700 Route Transcanadienne, Pointe-Claire, QC H9R 1C2

The REM team invites you to a coffee meeting to present the ongoing process surrounding noise analysis and to answer your questions.

In recent months, our team of multidisciplinary experts has been very active on the issue of noise in the Deux-Montagnes and Laval area. This will be an opportunity for you to fully understand the past, ongoing, and future steps concerning the management of REM noise in your sector.

A public meeting will take place later in the year to present the results of the analyses and, if necessary, any additional mitigation measures that will be installed.
