The doors to the metro station have been broken for years, signs to places that closed are still up, it just doesn’t feel nice to be in, if they just cleaned it up it’ll feel like there is actual investment of some kind at least
Le layout interne n’est pas fait pour un centre de commerces. Au mieux ils devraient l’éventrer et avoir un meilleur design, mais au final je ne sais même pas si un centre commercial tout court peut fonctionner là.
As a resident of Les Cours Mont-Royal condos, I would love to see the metro level of Les Cours turned into a major supermarket—not sure how the layout would work, but I think there will soon be enough local traffic to warrant a supermarket given the two high rise condo buildings going up within a two block radius (with a third one having broken ground on Peel just north of Maisonneuve). The entity overseeing the commercial section of Les Cours does not seem very interested in managing the space, as is evidenced by broken glass doors, out-of-service escalators, selfie-stations that remain unrepaired months after being vandalized, unsightly wooden construction boards blocking access to stairwells, lack of universal accessibility, etc. The place is terribly neglected. Time will tell if the gaming venue will generate a sustained flow of traffic. The new restaurant, Sea Me, is attractive and inviting, but I haven’t eaten there yet (nothing on the menu for vegetarians). I sincerely hope the restaurant does well. Residents in both the south and north tower of the building despair over the lack of management in the commercial section.
I would totally see one in the old American Apparel space (i think it’s a Fifth Avenue now?). It’s not super big but big enough for a mid sized grocery store
