Edit: 500 jobs created (not sure if all in MTL tho)
Some numbers finally came in for Venture Capital in Canadian cities. In the first half, Montreal raised $883 million over 40 deals ($322M Q1, $561M in Q2). We are on track to beat last years record but we have fallen far behind Vancouver ($2.2B) and Toronto ($2.6B).
(they will also double their headcount)
If this was posted already, my apologies.
Also, a cool article in Yahoo news about our gaming sector.
This report on VC has MTL at $711.7M raised in Q2, 2021, $967.5M total so far…
Also according to this, Montreal has surpassed all of last year in Q3, 2021
Merci pour les nouvelles économiques régulières .
It’s an absolute pleasure
It is now official, we can brag that Quebec will power the most important city in the world! Also brownie points that Hydro Quebec’s HQ is in Montreal, so we can say Montreal powers NYC
Montreal moves up 5 spots, now 31st globally (5 way tie)
