Taschereau Boulevard project leaves future of long-standing eyesores in limbo

he future of two long-standing, seemingly abandoned buildings along Brossard’s Taschereau Boulevard hinge on the development of the busy South Shore artery.

Boarded up, covered in graffiti, and surrounded by a tall fence, a strip mall off Taschereau Boulevard has been a vacant eyesore for over 10 years. It’s a similar story for the neighbouring building, which formerly housed a medical clinic. (…)

Je viens de voir que cette nouvelle date dil y a 9 mois. J’imagine qu’il n’y a pas eu d’autres changements à cette propriété depuis…?

I’m not sure how developers are sold on building on this. The city of Brossard should reveal a redesign that would be completed over time, to at least convince even more development. The most we’ve seen are ideas but I mean a for-sure design.

Edit: I’ve done some light research and the only recent information is this video from 8 years ago, besides of course the more recently PPU:

Taschereau a toujours été une destination régulière et cette discussion m’a fait réaliser que je ne pense pas avoir déjà marché sur Taschereau au nord de La Prairie.

The city has to work with the MTQ. This is the big problem for any development.
The Georges-Henri project was delayed (among other delays) for the change and approbation of an entrance on Taschereau.

Concernant la traverse et le trottoir, le travail a été fait à l’été 2024, mais son utilisation n’est toujours pas possible.

Ce qui freine le tout semble être l’attente d’une entente de collaboration entre la Ville de Brossard, l’ARTM et le MTMD dans le but d’entériner les travaux qui ont été effectué.
