If a tram ends up being built on René Lévesque, it definitely would not make a U in order to make a stop next to Berry-UQAM. All of those turns would be real screechers that would annoy the local population to all heck. Turns also really slow down a tramway line. They can only be negotiated at very low speed. To avoid those problems, its definitely better to just keep it on René-Lévesque and just build a tunnel under the road in order to facilitate transfers.
