Rep auprès de la ville de MTL afin d’obtenir les permis de démolition et de construction requis en vertu des règl. municipaux (règl. d’urbanisme de l’arrondissement de Ville-Marie 01-282) concernant la construction d’un bâtiment mixte résidentiel locatif et commerciale au 2159 rue Sainte-Catherine E
Un autre nouveau mandat du Groupe MACH, cette fois-ci pour un projet qui remplacerait l’édifice occupé par La Cordée sur Sainte-Catherine.
Ils veulent probablement transférer La Cordée au QdL, dans le sous-sol qui vont loger les magasins big-box.
Mach devrait acheter l’édifice voisin qui est à vendre depuis 1 an.

Lithuanian Vytautas club of Montreal
Montreal Vytautas the Great Lithuanian club was a large edifice where one could eat, drink, play and party. It was expanding since its opening in 1907. In the 1960s, it received a new two-floored edifice and had ~700 members at the time. Sadly, less than a decade passed and the club was sold by its owners in 1971, leaving the two parishes as the only „Lithuanian clubs“ in the area.
The former Vytautas club is now a sports shop and even its Lithuanian cornerstone has been removed (moved into the Lithuanian-Canadian archives in Mississauga).
Wow. The original La Cordée is a cherished part of my youth. I hung out in there a lot during the early to mid-80s when the “outdoors” and “adventure sports” scene was just beginning to blossom in Montreal.
