The SRB wasn’t meant to be on the metropolitan maps, it was the ARTM last minute that got it added (in my opinion to appear like the long construction was “worth it”). In my opinion, it shouldn’t be shown on the maps, because it’s not a service, it’s infrastructure. We don’t have a metro map showing all the tunnels, we have the routes on it. Why show where a bus lane is and none of the buses on it?
This map from the ARTM Standards shows the Pie-IX BRT not added at all to it, proving my hypothesis that it was added to the map last minute:
The STM couldn’t even agree to make the 439 green to match the maps, so the STM brands buses blue, but in this case it’s ARTM so green, but then STM changed it to be frequent buses in purple, and the displays in the bus stops show the 439 in blue and on the map it’s green. There’s no coordination.
The STM and ARTM should agree on making the buses there have an indication that they use the SRB, like an icon on the signs, or something, because the inconsistent colours can be confusing.
