Pointe-Claire set into law there 2025-2026-2027 CIP(Capital investment program) in today’s extraordinary Council meeting and in it they have plans for redevelopment of the source’s/hymus intersection for safer pedestrian and bike infrastructure for the REM specifically, I cannot confirm if it’s for 2025 or 2026 yet I have sent a request for the entire document to the city.

They had to wait for the end of REM construction to do that I guess ?

no, its just that funding by taxes are a thing and a city like pointe-claure who’s being forced to give 50% of all taxes to the city of mtl just because a 2004 law was passed means that money does not flow out of nowhere and that most of the time the city of mtl outright refuse to fund aglo stuff thats not actually in the city of mtl. its politics and stuff. also MTQ thats a pain in the ass to work with.

I was surprised how quickly Royalmount got MTQ approval for the overpass versus all the trouble they give to cities.

Five years. Jeezus. Dorval Circle Lite.

5 years if PC is fine paying, they explicitly said that if it can’t be payed 2026 onwards will be delayed until funding happens

Also these works can only be done after the MTQ fixes the car part of the bridge so we are depending on them to do there job and we know how much the mtq loves the west island… (Both sources overpass are dying, the sj overpass (highway 40 is approaching critical damage and Ile aux tourte bridge)

I spoke briefly with a Pte-Claire Public Works engineer who was on site at the Des Sources roadworks this week and I asked if he had info about when the North Service Road might get rebuilt between Costco and Avenue Fairview. He rolled his eyes and took a deep breath before saying it’ll only happen after the MTQ rebuilds the St-Jean overpass, so likely around 2029-30.

We both know that’s only happening after they finish the des sources interchange

Yep, and with the work they’ve accomplished already this year at Saint Charles, it looks like Saint Jean is probably the last of the three. After 2030 doesn’t seem that far-fetched.

I mean it’s the mtq. Obviously they’re going to prioritize the tourte bridge before doing a small puny little St. John’s overpass of a big Highway /S

Not sure if this was discussed already but is Ithere any global plan to have boulevard des sources redone from north to south? We can maybe see the results of revamping Henri bourassa. If it is successful, we can copy the configuration to des sources.

Pc has had nothing planned for its part of des-sources except a proper connection to the rem

The Sources interchange over the 20? It’s done, even the pedestrian path, they’re just doing some minor landscaping now. It actually looks pretty good!
