A speed restriction only in the North Direction seems to be in place on the Champlain Bridge, max speeds of 45km/h

Was it 11:37 am or pm?

AM.

They confirmed the TSR on Twitter

I noticed this delay on Tuesday morning around 7:30am. (I must have been deep in my podcast this morning, I didn’t notice it then.)

Would be nice if they figured out live train times to allow people to plan their connections better

Maybe they didn’t think about that, reckoning that the eventual full service will be every two and a half and five minutes.

I never once thought about connection times when taking the metro.

Since every train going north will come from Brossard this will impact the entire network ?

Sure but when it branches off, you’ll want to time your train with a bus that’s every 20 min or every hour in the case of RTL.

Tonight on the REM, on the elevated portion between Gare Centrale and IDS, I clocked (using a speedometer app) an average speed of 66km/h and near Mel’s film studios, we hit 81km/h! You could feel the speed. Usually the app gives me 52-60km/h max on that section. On the bridge we averaged 87 with a peak of 91km/h.

Update: between Panama and Du Quartier we averaged 81 but suddenly hit a peak of 96km/h!

On the return, the train did slow after Panama toward the bridge, averaging 45km/h but once we hit the superstructure, it took off doing between 100-104km/h until IDS. Not sure I’ve ever felt that speed on the REM before it’s quite something.
